Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Small saucepan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Pastry brush
  • Rolling pin (optional)

Ingredients

  • 1 can 16 oz refrigerated biscuit dough (10 biscuits)
  • 1 cup apple pie filling diced into small pieces
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Optional Glaze:
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tbsp milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat the Oven
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Step 2: Prepare the Filling
  • Dice the apple pie filling into small pieces if needed, so it fits nicely inside the biscuit dough.
  • Step 3: Flatten the Biscuit Dough
  • Separate the biscuit dough and, using a rolling pin or your hands, flatten each biscuit into a round disk about 1/4-inch thick.
  • Step 4: Fill and Seal the Bombs
  • Place about a tablespoon of apple pie filling in the center of each dough round.
  • Carefully bring the edges of the dough up and around the filling, pinching them together to seal, forming a ball shape.
  • Place the sealed balls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Step 5: Bake the Apple Pie Bombs
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Step 6: Coat in Cinnamon Sugar
  • While the bombs are baking, mix the cinnamon and sugar in a bowl.
  • As soon as the apple pie bombs come out of the oven, brush them with melted butter, then roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.
  • Step 7: Add Optional Glaze (Optional)
  • If you’d like to add glaze, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth. Drizzle over the warm apple pie bombs before serving.
  • Step 8: Serve and Enjoy
  • Serve the apple pie bombs warm for the best taste, or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Make It Your Own: Try adding a sprinkle of chopped nuts or a few caramel bits inside the filling for extra flavor.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave for a few seconds for a fresh-out-of-the-oven feel.
  • Use Fresh Apples: If you prefer, substitute apple pie filling with fresh apples sautéed with a little butter, sugar, and cinnamon until soft.
  • Make-Ahead Option: Assemble the bombs and refrigerate them for up to a day before baking.
