Equipment

  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Rolling Pin
  • Ravioli stamp or cookie cutter
  • Large pot
  • Slotted spoon
  • Serving platter

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups fresh spinach chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package of store-bought wonton wrappers
  • Marinara sauce for serving
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, chopped fresh spinach, Parmesan cheese, egg, salt, and pepper. Ensure all ingredients are thoroughly mixed to create a flavorful filling for the ravioli.
  • Lay out the wonton wrappers on a flat surface and spoon a portion of the ricotta-spinach mixture onto each wrapper. Be generous with the filling, but leave enough space to seal the ravioli properly.
  • Moisten the edges of the wrappers with water to help them stick together when folded. Carefully fold the wrappers over the filling to form a triangle shape, pressing firmly to seal the edges and prevent any filling from leaking out during cooking.
  • Use a ravioli stamp or cookie cutter to cut out the individual ravioli pieces, creating uniform shapes for even cooking. Repeat this process with the remaining wrappers and filling until all the ravioli are assembled and ready to be cooked.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Gently drop the ravioli into the boiling water and cook for about 3-4 minutes or until they float to the surface, indicating they are fully cooked and ready to be served.
  • Using a slotted spoon, carefully remove the cooked ravioli from the water and transfer them to a serving platter. Serve the hot ravioli with marinara sauce drizzled over the top and garnish with fresh basil leaves for a delightful finishing touch.

Notes

For a shortcut, you can use store-bought ravioli instead of making your own.
Feel free to customize the filling with ingredients like sautéed mushrooms or sun-dried tomatoes.
Make a large batch and freeze the uncooked ravioli for a quick meal option later.
