Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups fresh or frozen peaches peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ground cinnamon optional, for topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • In a saucepan, combine the peaches and 1/2 cup of sugar. Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is syrupy. Remove from heat and stir in the butter until melted.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter. Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the cobbler is bubbly.
