Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Large spoon or spatula
  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Large non-stick pan or griddle
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Foil (optional for wrapping)

Ingredients

For the Filling:

  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey as an alternative
  • 1 packet taco seasoning or 1 Tbsp homemade taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup nacho cheese sauce optional for extra cheesiness

For Assembling the Crunch Wrap:

  • 4 large flour tortillas burrito-size, at least 10 inches wide
  • 4 small corn tostadas for the crunch layer
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Additional shredded cheddar cheese if desired

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Beef Filling

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until fully browned (about 5-7 minutes).
  • Drain any excess grease from the skillet.
  • Add taco seasoning and 1/2 cup of water to the skillet. Stir and let it simmer until the water has evaporated and the meat is coated with seasoning. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 2: Assemble the Crunch Wrap

  • Lay a large flour tortilla on a flat surface. In the center, spread a layer of ground beef (about 1/4 of the cooked mixture).
  • Top with a small amount of nacho cheese sauce (if using), shredded cheddar, a tostada shell, and a layer of sour cream.
  • Next, add a sprinkle of shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and additional shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Fold the edges of the tortilla up over the filling, working in a circular pattern until it’s fully enclosed.

Step 3: Toast the Crunch Wrap

  • Preheat a large non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat.
  • Place the assembled Crunch Wrap, seam-side down, onto the hot pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the tortilla is golden and crispy.
  • Carefully flip and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes. Repeat with remaining wraps.

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy

  • Slice the Crunch Wrap Supreme in half and serve warm, with extra sour cream, salsa, or guacamole for dipping if desired.

  • Customize the Wraps: Feel free to add sliced jalapeños or black beans to make it your own.
