Ingredients
  

  • 1 package puff pastry or refrigerated crescent roll dough or homemade pizza/bread dough
  • 6 slices deli ham thinly sliced
  • 6 slices cheese Swiss, cheddar, or your favorite melting cheese
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • 1 tbsp water
  • Optional toppings: sesame seeds poppy seeds, or garlic powder
  • Mustard or marinara sauce for dipping optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • Prepare the dough:
  • If using puff pastry or crescent roll dough, roll it out into a rectangle about 10x12 inches.
  • Cut the dough into 6 strips using a knife or pizza cutter.
  • Layer ham and cheese:
  • Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on each strip of dough.
  • Fold the ham and cheese slightly so it fits neatly along the strip.
  • Wrap into sticks:
  • Roll each strip from one end to the other, creating a “stick” shape with the ham and cheese inside.
  • Press the seams lightly to seal them.
  • Egg wash:
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and 1 tablespoon of water.
  • Brush the tops of the ham and cheese sticks with the egg wash to give them a golden, glossy finish when baked.
  • Optional toppings:
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or a pinch of garlic powder on top for extra flavor and texture.
  • Bake:
  • Place the ham and cheese sticks on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and crispy.
  • Serve:
  • Remove the sticks from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
  • Serve with mustard, marinara sauce, or your favorite dipping sauce.
