Fried Chicharrones with Guacamole on the Side

Crispy fried pork belly (chicharrones) served with a creamy guacamole dip for a perfect appetizer.

Equipment

  • Frying pan
  • Knife and Cutting Board
  • Mixing bowl for guacamole

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb pork belly cut into cubes
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste
  • For Guacamole:
  • 2 avocados mashed
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 lime juiced
  • 1 tomato diced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Fry the Chicharrones
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the pork belly cubes and fry until crispy, about 10-12 minutes.
  • Drain on paper towels and season with salt.
  • Step 2: Make the Guacamole
  • In a bowl, mash the avocados and mix with the onion, tomato, lime juice, salt, and pepper.
  • Step 3: Serve
  • Serve the crispy chicharrones with the guacamole on the side for dipping.

Notes

Add jalapeños to the guacamole for extra heat.
Serve with salsa for variety.
