Ingredients
  

  • 2 slices of bread white, sourdough, or multigrain
  • 2 slices of cheese cheddar, American, or your choice
  • 1 tbsp butter softened

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the bread:
  • Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
  • Assemble the sandwich:
  • Place a slice of cheese on the unbuttered side of one bread slice. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
  • Cook the sandwich:
  • Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy and the cheese is melted. Press lightly with a spatula to help melt the cheese evenly.
  • Serve:
  • Remove from the skillet, slice in half if desired, and enjoy warm.
