American Favorite Classic Beef Sloppy Joe Sandwich

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 1 bell pepper chopped
  • 1 can 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Cook the Beef
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  • Drain excess fat and add the chopped onion and bell pepper. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Step 2: Add the Sauce
  • Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.
  • Step 3: Assemble the Sandwiches
  • Toast the hamburger buns in a skillet or oven.
  • Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the bottom bun, then top with the other half.
